The Construction Industry has, for a number of years, been the target of criticism as a direct result of poor standards towards Health & Safety.
The influx of overseas workers and continued sector growth has further focused attention from enforcing authorities. Whilst accidents and fatalities still occur the industry is improving as a direct result of responsible employers and clients with a meaningful commitment to health and safety.
Many critics will say the number of accidents in the Construction industry over recent years has not declined, but we need to be mindful that the number of individuals now employed in the industry has significantly increased. Consequently Loss Time Accident rates per man hour have decreased.
