TRAINING SOLUTIONS > First Aid at Work

People providing a facilities service

On the 1st Oct 2009 the existing First Aid at Work Regulations 1981 were amended to change the position of qualifications. The full First Aid at Work now requires 3 full days training and a 1 day Emergency First Aid at Work course has been introduced to replace the ‘Approved Person’ training.

The Health and Safety Executive recommend that all First Aiders and Emergency First Aiders attend annual refresher training as explained in the flow chart below. If you have existing first aiders, they will officially join the new training regime when they renew their certificates. Due to the wealth of evidence on the severity of ‘first aid skill fade’ it is good practice to provide update training to existing first aiders.
